What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Marantz CD 75II

The CD 75II (1989) Compact Disc Player is a much improved version of the popular award winning Marantz CD 65/75 model. This player offers a sound quality that has set a standard against which other players are judged. To this is added full remote control and the convenience of Favourite Track Selection, High performance low distortion digital-to-analogue convertor chips are used with four times oversampling and Marantz digital filtering. Independent power supplies ensure that no digital noise reaches the analogue output stages. Treble delicacy or detail is retained that can often be lost when the servos that ensure accurate tracking of the disc operate. The power supplies guarantee tight bass control. Direct access is given to 99-tracks with a 20-step memory which can be programmed by track, index point or time. The CD75II has both fixed and variable level outputs (phono).
